Modular Carpet Tiles

A popular choice for commercial carpeting projects, modular carpet tiles are squares cut from wall to wall rolls. They generally come in sizes 48×48, 50×50, 60×60 and 96x96cm, but can come in other shapes like hexagons or triangles.

The carpet tiles are backed with a vinyl product and the yarn is sealed to it, making it nearly impossible to unravel. It is great for commercial use in high traffic areas.

Modular carpet tiles are a cost-effective and fast solution for those on projects with tight budgets and/or deadlines. They are easy to lift and transport making installation much easier than with traditional wall to wall options.

Benefits of Modular Carpet Tiles

  1. Easy installation and maintenance
  2. Easy to remove
  3. Available in a wide range of colours and patterns
  4. Layered structure absorbs more sound than wall to wall

Commercial Broadloom

Broadloom is the industry term for wall to wall carpeting. It is manufactured in long wide rolls, with different backing options. You can sometimes install directly on the sub-floor, but more often it is laid on underfelt over a substrate floor. Broadloom is more difficult and therefore more costly to install than modular carpet tiles.

  • Residential Berber

Originally the term “Berber” was used to describe a looped carpet that was light in colour with flecks of darker colours in it. It was named in reference to the Berber tribes in North Africa who were known for a similar type of looped weaving.

As time has gone on, Berber has come to be associated with either the looped style of carpeting and/or the flecked colour pattern. More often it refers to the looped style of carpeting, whether it be flecked or solid.

Once thought of as a basement or rec room carpet, Berber is gaining in popularity throughout the home as it has become more stylish over the years.

Benefits of Residential Berber

  • Soft and durable
  • Easy to clean
